Belmont Canary ButterDish 1886 – This is pattern # 100 Daisy & Button with Scalloped Edge by Belmont Glass Company. A large picture of this butter dish is on page 15 of Sue C. Davis' book “ The Picture book of Vaseline Glass”. The "unknown" pattern is identified in Peterson's book where he illustrates the compote in this pattern on the back cover of “Vaseline Glass : Canary to Contemporary”. The butter dish measures 8"high x 8” wide. It is in excellent condition This Belmont butter dish is highly regarded among collectors.
