Description

This is a hand-painted ceramic cheese dish with a matching lid. The piece features a charming vintage aesthetic with the word "Cheese" inscribed on one side of the lid, a decorative illustration of a cottage scene painted on another side, and the saying "Better to have no luck than bad luck" hand-painted on the back. The base of the dish is adorned with green vine patterns against a creamy yellow background, bordered by a rust-colored rim. The handle on the lid is also painted in rust tones. | | On the bottom of the base, a hallmark is present, indicating "Made in Portugal." The interior of the lid is unglazed, showcasing a natural ceramic finish with a small ventilation hole. The measurements are visible in the provided photos (see photos for measurements). Motto ware. Torquay Pottery | | The cheese dish is free from major cracks or chips but shows minimal surface wear consistent with age and use, including light scuff marks on the base and minor paint imperfections.
